Heartsnative MOSAIC.WAV X KAMO TSURUTA feat. MIKU HATSUNE

Yet another Vocaloid related album in my collection. This album was released last month though I only noticed it a couple of weeks ago. I ordered it from a site called otaku.com, I bought something from them around January but hadn’t been on the site since – but the service was very good last time so I didn’t have a problem ordering there. Sure enough it only took a few days to arrive.

PS3 or Xbox 360

ff_xiii_1

I’ve been thinking of getting a new console recently but can’t decide between the PS3 and Xbox 360. My main motivation for this is to play Final Fantasy Xiii when it comes out next year. Which console to get is a pretty tough choice and there seems to be lots of people for and against each one.

Japanese Progress/Loot

I haven’t done an update on my Japanese progress for awhile, so I thought it would be a good idea to do a post on where I’m currently at and things I’ve been up to.

I guess the first thing to say is that I finally worked through the whole of RTK. The 30 day goal I posted about awhile ago was both successful and unsuccessful. The whole thing kind of went wrong after a last minute planned trip to Paris which messed up my schedule and it was hard continuing straight away after that. However the momentum I had built up still kept me going and although it took a lot longer than 30 days I eventually finished. Where I am now with RTK is keeping up reviews and slowly breaking down my (rather large) failed pile.

Halloween Photos

DSC_0348

Well… not really that related to Halloween but taken today nonetheless.

I was away in the peak district the whole of last week coming back this morning. Taking a break was quite nice – especially having no access to internet or my laptop. It was kind of bad not being able to do my Japanese reviews while away, but I’ve pretty much caught up on them now.

I have to say this has been a pretty good Autumn – hardly any rain and not too cold. The trees are really nice colours as well, lots of orange and red. I did take a lot of photos while away but very few came out well. I mentioned it in a different post that i would be trying to use manual mode on my camera as much as possible. At the moment when taking a picture I just tend to set it to some random settings and then adjust it depending on how it turns out – I think I’m slowly improving through this trial and error method. I’m also planning to read up a lot more guides to try and understand which settings will work better – hopefully I can eventually be a good photographer.

Anyway, now onto the photos I took today.

Sennheiser HD595

DSC_0219
A few weeks ago I decided I was fed up with my useless earphones which caused my ears to hurt and had rubbish sound quality. I’ve been wanting a decent pair of headphones for awhile as I spend a lot of time listening to Japanese music as part of my language learning process.

初音ミク ベストimpacts / memories

DSC_0169

I’ve been looking forward to these CDs for awhile as I pre-ordered them over a month ago. I was kind of hesitant to order them at first as they both contain several songs I already have on other albums. They are both pretty much made to go with each other so I felt I had get both of them which is fairly expensive, But because I ordered so early I could get the first press editions which both come with a poster so it was worth it.

Lunar Knights

lunar_knights_cover

I started this game recently. It was one of my impulse ebay buys when I saw it for a few quid and thought it looked alright. I got it a couple of months ago but haven’t touched it once – I was trying to finish Final Fantasy iii first but I just haven’t been able to get into that game at all.

Pan de Mie

I decided to try the new tins I got in Paris and made Pan de Mie. This is a very fast bread to make, I think it took around 3 hours start to finish.
The recipe I used came from the book “the bread bible” by Rose Levy Beranbaum. One of my favourite books – it has a wide range of bread recipes and also has detailed explanations of the techniques and equipment that are used.
I didn’t take a huge number of pictures, but you don’t need that many to see whats going on.

Paris Trip

This was a very last minute trip. I’ve been wanting to go to Paris for ages now but we never got round to organising anything. Last week however we started looking and decided to book something. Due to some mess up with my mums credit card we had to put off booking it for a day – this meant we had to book the holiday the day before we went, as i said it was a very last minute thing.

My main reason for wanting to go to Paris was to visit the bakeries and they didn’t disappoint.

-Break-

Yeah, I know it’s kind of early to be taking a break but I have an excuse.  There is a good chance that I am going to Paris on Tuesday – we tried to book it today but for some reason the credit card company thought it was fraud and blocked it. So we have to wait till tomorrow to book it – very last minute thing this. I will only be going for 2 nights though so it shouldn’t affect me to badly. I have however decided not to learn any new kanji till after I get back, I’m also not going to clear my failed pile yet. If I didn’t do this then I would be left with like 5 or 600 reviews to do when I got back – so it’s best just to leave it a few days.
